Reception Information

The kick-off to the HACAC conference is at the Ko’olau Glass Ballroom at 5:30 PM on Friday, March 31st, 2023. So set your GPS to 45-550 Kionaole Rd, Kaneohe, HI 96744, and get ready to be mesmerized by the beauty of the Ko’olau range on the Windward side of Oahu. If you arrive earlier to avoid traffic, please come in for early drinks at 5:00 PM.  Once again, a heartfelt mahalo to the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa for sponsoring the reception.

While alcohol will be available to those 21+, this is a family-friendly event. Conference registrants will have already paid for their entrance to the reception. If you already paid for a “plus 1” in your initial conference registration, there is no need to pay for that person again. However, we ask you to register and pay for your additional guests ahead of time so that we can update our food quantities. See you there!

RECEPTION DIRECTIONS

General Information: The reception is Friday, March 31, from 5:30-8:30 PM at the Ko’olau Glass Ballroom, at 45-550 Kionaole Road, Kaneohe, HI 96744.

Parking: There is tons of FREE parking.  HACAC will be the only event for that evening, and for your peace of mind, security will be watching the parking lot.  Signage off the highway will direct you to the conference ballrooms, which are nestled up against the mountain range and not easily spotted off the main roads and arteries.

DIRECTIONS:  The Ko’olau Conference Ballrooms are 30 minutes from Waikiki and Kapolei and 20 minutes from downtown Honolulu.  You can leave a few minutes earlier to avoid the heavy traffic over the mountains.  You may take the H-3. Likelike Highway or the Pali Highway.  The views on the way are always enjoyable, so take it in.

From the Pali Highway:

If you are taking the scenic drive through the Pali Tunnel (H-1 Freeway), you’ll be welcomed by the beauty of the Windward side once you come out of the second tunnel.  At the bottom of the Pali Highway at the first intersection, Castle Junction, turn left on Kamehameha Highway.  Stay in your left lane, PASS the Pali Municipal Golf Cour and HPU Hawai’i Loa campus, and turn left onto Kionaole Road. Look for signage. Follow the winding road for what seems like a long mile to reach the event center.

Dress Code: Casual and up, as with nearly everything in Hawai`i. Shirts and footwear are required.

Conference Information

We’re excited to welcome Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke as our Keynote Speaker at the conference on Saturday, April 1, at Mid-Pacific. The descriptions and details of the eighteen sessions can be found at this link.
