About Session

What is a Counselor Advisory Board? Who do they benefit and are they a good use of our precious time? Willamette University established a Counselor Advisory Board in 2021 and it has been an extraordinary experience that we highly value and recommend, even in a world of tight schedules and limited budgets.

This session will talk through the timeline for development and implementation of our CAB, as well as reflection on our process and decision-making. We’ll hear from one of our inaugural board members and describe the collaboration that occurs between the college and high school sides when a CAB comes together. We will also leave time for group conversation and idea generation from those who have had experiences with active and engaged advisory boards.
