About Session

After the June 2023 U.S. Supreme Court ruling against race-conscious admissions, there were and continue to be many questions on its impact in education. In this presentation and talk story session, we will discuss what the ruling means for college counseling and admissions, its impact as we currently understand it after an almost-complete admissions cycle, and potential strategies to advocate for our students in the college-going process. We look forward to learning together in order to best serve our students in Hawaiʻi.

Speaker

Leilani Arita-Takayama (Associate Director of College Counseling), 'Iolani School & Troy Ballard, J.D., M.S.Ed, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
